Editing Services
Many documents and reports need an editor's critical eye, even if only for a final check of style, grammar, spelling, consistency and a little professional polish.
Others need a more extensive make-over, particularly if a number of authors have contributed different sections for a report. Each will have their own writing style, use of spelling (was that UK, US or Australian English you wanted? ), punctuation and formatting for headlines, tables and bulleted or numbered lists.
My role is to resolve issues of style and consistency with you, then deliver a document which reads smoothly, clearly and coherently from start to finish. As a former magazine editor and a working journalist today, I'm accustomed to the tight deadlines and fast turnarounds associated with tender documents and expressions of interest.
Recent editing projects for clients include:
- A report to the Victorian Government by consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers.
- A staff handbook for Connex Melbourne.
- The Public Transport Industry Ombudsman (Victoria) 2005 annual report.
- The successful entry for Aquila Mt Abrupt Eco Lodges in the 2005 Victorian Tourism Awards.
- Two Expressions of Interest by a Melbourne property development group for major development projects.
- A Business Information Document aimed to generate interest in investing in a complementary and alternative medicine opportunity.
- A corporate profile for E K Project & Construction Management Pty Ltd.
I am a qualified trainer (Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training from RMIT University), and so am well-equipped to edit training material.
