Award entry and submission writer

Using my skills as a submission writer, I’ve written and produced more than 40 successful submissions for State and National Tourism Awards, the Australian Hotel Association Awards, the Australian Financial Review Sponsorship Awards and other business awards for organisations including:

  • Sovereign Hill
  • Ayers Rock Resort
  • Hotel Sofitel Melbourne
  • Academy Sofitel
  • Moonee Valley Racing Club
  • Bensons Group of Companies
  • Mornington Peninsula Tourism
  • Canberra Institute of Technology
  • Aquila Mt Abrupt Eco Lodges

I work flexibly with clients on these exacting and often demanding projects. I can provide total project management, undertaking all research, seeking out statistics and data, locating supporting information, writing copy, briefing graphic designers and overseeing production. Where budgets are limited, I’m happy to edit the client’s copy, or write copy from supplied information.

Recent successes include:

  • A submission for Sovereign Hill which won the Major Tourism Attractions Award in the 2015 Victorian Tourism Awards, and the 2015 Australian Tourism Awards.
  • A submission for Sovereign Hill which won the Major Tourism Attractions Award in the 2014 Victorian Tourism Awards.

  • A submission for Sovereign Hill which won an award in the 2012 Victorian Tourism Awards.
  • An entry in the 2011 Meetings and Events Australia awards for Sofitel Melbourne won the Victorian award for the best cause-related event, and went on to become runner up in the national awards.
  • An entry prepared for Sofitel Melbourne in the 2007 Meetings and Events Australia Awards won the Victorian Meeting Manager of the Year Award. Other entries in 2008 and 2009 were finalists in the Event of the Year Award.
  • Awards written and project-managed for the Canberra Institute of Technology in the 2006 and 2007 ACT Tourism Awards both won the ACT Training and Education Award, and went on to win the National Tourism Awards in this category.
  • For Aquila Mt Abrupt Eco Lodges’ entry in the 2005 Victorian Tourism Awards, I provided editing services. It won the category of Eco Tourism.
