Hospitality and tourism writer

I’m a former editor of trade and consumer publications in the tourism and hospitality industry, and for many years specialised in tourism as a public relations consultant. I’ve developed and written copy for many public relations and communications projects for tourist commissions, airlines, regional tourism associations, wholesalers, hotels, resorts, major tourist attractions, winery tourism, special events, rental car companies and the meetings industry.

Projects have included visitor guides, media kits, web content, trade manuals, newsletters and brochures.

I’ve also written many successful entries for the various State tourism awards, some of which have gone on to take national awards.

My thorough understanding of the tourism industry means I’ll be across your brief very quickly, and will add value and knowledge to your project.

Major tourism writing projects have included:

Ayers Rock Resort:
13 years as public relations consultant and writer

Northern Territory Tourist Commission:
Seven years as public relations consultant and writer

Hotel Sofitel Melbourne:

Award entry and submission writer

Using my skills as a submission writer, I’ve written and produced more than 40 successful submissions for State and National Tourism Awards, the Australian Hotel Association Awards, the Australian Financial Review Sponsorship Awards and other business awards for organisations including:

  • Sovereign Hill

  • Sofitel Melbourne on Collins
  • Academy Sofitel
  • Moonee Valley Racing Club
  • Bensons Group of Companies
  • Mornington Peninsula Tourism
  • Canberra Institute of Technology

I work flexibly with clients on these exacting and often demanding projects. I can provide total project management, undertaking all research, seeking out statistics and data, locating supporting information, writing copy, briefing graphic designers and overseeing production. Where budgets are limited, I’m happy to edit the client’s copy, or write copy from supplied information.
